Industrial Millwright Mechanic Pre-Apprenticeship
The Industrial Millwright Mechanic trade is an exciting career choice with many opportunities for specialization. An industrial mechanic millwright works on industrial machinery, mechanical equipment and components, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, cooling and exhaust systems, and pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, presses, generators and pneumatic and hydraulic controls.

Employment in this trade could include full-time, seasonal or a project-by-project basis type of work, or you can be self-employed. This Pre-Apprenticeship program is designed for the student to obtain career experience through theoretical and practical lab experiences at the college, followed by an eight-week work placement with an employer.
An employed, signed apprentice, in the Carpentry trade, may continue their in-school apprenticeship training at Niagara College. Upon completion of all levels of the General Carpenter apprenticeship, they can seek provincial certification for a Red Seal Certificate of Qualification.
